UConn Alums Win Medals at Paris 2024 Olympics
PARIS – Four former members of the UConn women's basketball team earned medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi earned gold with USA Basketball as the team won its eighth straight Olympic gold medal.
Taurasi became the most decorated basketball athlete in Olympics history as she won her sixth gold medal. Collier earned her second gold while Stewart picked up her third.
Gabby Williams led host nation France to the silver medal as Les Bleues battled the U.S. in the gold medal game.
The U.S. women's basketball team went 6-0 in the 2024 Olympics, pushing their Olympic win streak to 61 straight games. The team last lost in the Olympics in 1992.
France matched its best finish at the Olympics, earning silver for the second time in the team's history (2012).
Thirteen UConn alums have earned 30 Olympic medals, including 27 gold, one silver and two bronze.
