Strong, USA U18 Team Win AmeriCup Gold

BUCARAMANGA, Colombia – UConn women's basketball freshman Sarah Strong helped the United States win the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup gold medal as Team USA beat Canada, 80-69, Sunday night.
Strong averaged 7.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals per game in the tournament.
The No. 1-ranked recruit in the 2024 freshman class, Strong is now a three-time U.S. gold medalist. She also won gold at the 2022 and 2023 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cups.
The gold medal is the USA's 11th consecutive dating back to 2000. The United States is now 71-2 in U18 women's competition.
