No. 4 Huskies to Face Iowa State in HOF Women’s Showcase
HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 4 UConn women's basketball team (9-1) takes on Iowa State (9-3) in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. The game will air on FS1 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).
The Huskies are 41-1 all-time in Mohegan Sun Arena.
UConn opened conference play with a 79-44 win over Georgetown on Sunday. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers led the Huskies with 24 points on 11-16 shooting. Freshman Sarah Strong had her second double-double of the season with 17 points and a personal-best 14 rebounds. UConn had 25 assists on 32 made field goals and had 30 points off turnovers.
UConn is 2-1 all-time vs. Iowa State. This is the first meeting between the teams since the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
Iowa State beat Eastern Illinois, 87-55, on Sunday. This season, Audi Crooks leads the Cyclones and ranks 10th nationally iwth 21.6 points per game. Emily Ryan leads the nation with 87 assists. Head coach Bill Fennelly is in his 30th season at Iowa State.
UConn returns to Hartford this Saturday to host No. 7 USC in a top-10 matchup in a sold-out XL Center at 8 p.m. on FOX. Saturday's game is a White Out – all fans attending the game are encouraged to wear WHITE!
