No. 7 Huskies Travel to Villanova Sunday
STORRS, Conn. – The No. 7 UConn women's basketball team (12-2, 3-0 BIG EAST) takes on Villanova (7-7, 1-1) Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Finneran Pavilion. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (The River 105.9).
UConn beat Marquette, 77-45, on New Year's Day. Sophomore KK Arnold, a native of Germantown, Wis., notched a season-high 13 points, four rebounds and tied her career high with seven assists off the bench. The Huskies had just five turnovers vs. the Golden Eagles, UConn's lowest mark of the season.
UConn is 44-18 all-time vs. Villanova. The Huskies have won the last six meetings between the teams. UConn head coach Geno Auriemma is a native of Norristown, Pa., which is about six miles away from Villanova.
Villanova fell on a last-second shot to Seton Hall, 56-55, on Wednesday. This season, Jasmine Bascoe leads the Wildcats with 15.6 points per game. Head coach Denise Dillon is in her fifth season at her alma mater.
UConn returns to the XL Center next Wednesday to host Xavier at 7:30 p.m. The Huskies will celebrate Pride Night to honor the LGBTQ+ community. Tickets are available HERE.
