No. 11 UConn Hosts St. John’s for Pink Game

STORRS, Conn. – The 11th-ranked UConn women's basketball team (18-4, 10-0 BIG EAST) hosts St. John's in Gampel Pavilion at 3 p.m. for the Huskies Play4Kay Pink Game. The game will air on CBS Sports Network and the UConn Sports Network (FOX Sports 97.9).

UConn bounced back from a loss and moved to 10-0 in the BIG EAST with an 81-60 win over Villanova last Wednesday. Senior Aaliyah Edwards led the Huskies with 22 points and seven rebounds while redshirt junior Paige Bueckers had 21 points. Senior Nika Mühl notched 12 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals vs. Villanova.

UConn is 48-18 all-time vs. St. John's. The Huskies won the first meeting between the teams this season, 92-49, on Jan. 13 in Elmont, N.Y. Redshirt junior Paige Bueckers led UConn with 22 points and redshirt freshman Ice Brady had a career-high 17 points. Senior Nika Mühl and the Huskies held leading scoring Unique Drake to four points in the game.

St. John's beat Georgetown, 57-56, on Wednesday. This season, Unique Drake leads the Red Storm with 18.5 points per game. Head coach Joe Tartamella is in his 12th season at St. John's.
