No. 5 Huskies Beat Marquette on Senior Day
STORRS, Conn. – Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers scored 19 points to lead the No. 5 UConn women's basketball team (28-3, 18-0 BIG EAST) to a 92-57 win vs. Marquette (20-9, 12-6) Sunday afternoon in the regular season finale.
Bueckers added four rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Freshman Sarah Strong finished with 17 points, five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals.
After the game, UConn honored seniors Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen, Azzi Fudd and Aubrey Griffin.
The Huskies scored 27 points off 24 Marquette turnovers.
UConn finished the season undefeated in conference play for the 19th time in program history.
The Huskies are the No. 1 seed in next weekend's BIG EAST Tournament at Mohegan Sun. UConn will face either No. 8-seed St. John's (15-14, 5-13) or No. 9-seed Butler (15-16, 5-13) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at noon on FS1.
