HookC Run-Rules UMass to Win Fourth Straight, 13-3

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (21-18) run-ruled the University of Massachusetts,, 13-3, on Tuesday night at Elliot Ballpark to win its fourth-straight game and 11th in its last 13. 

Paul Tammaro led the way for the Huskies with a three-hit night that featured four runs batted in on a two-run single in the fourth and two-run double in the fifth. The UConn shortstop has driven in 14 runs in the last three games at Elliot Ballpark.

Bryan Padilla notched a multi-hit game that featured a three RBI night at the plate. Padilla singled home a run in the second and produced a two-run double to cap the UConn scoring in the fifth. 

Luke Broadhurst launched his team-leading 10th home run of the season, a three-run shot over the visiting bullpen, as part of the seven-run fourth inning.

Gabe Van Emon earned the victory on the mound with six innings of work. The left-hander struck out eight and allowed just three hits and closed out his night by retiring the final 10 batters that he faced.

Next up, the Huskies face Hofstra on Wednesday, April 24 at 3:35 p.m. at Elliot Ballpark.
