Braden Quinn Drafted 14th Round to Arizona Diamondbacks
ARLINGTON, Texas - UConn left-handed pitcher Braden Quinn was selected in the 14th Round of the MLB Draft to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday afternoon.
The New Fairfield, Conn. native had a career year during his junior campaign with a team-high 29 appearances and led the bullpen with 44.2 innings pitched.
The lefty struck out 67 batters, logged two wins and four saves, registered the second lowest ERA on the staff with a 3.63 mark and held opponents to a .249 batting average against.
Quinn is the lone Husky to be drafted in the 2024 draft, making it 19-consecutive years that UConn has had at least one player drafted/signed by an MLB club.
He is the 73rd Husky to be drafted/signed under head coach Jim Penders and the 178th all-time MLB Draft pick or signing out of UConn.
