UConn BSB Shut Out at Northeastern

BROOKLINE, MA - The UConn baseball team (10-13) lost 3-0 at Northeastern on Wednesday afternoon at Friedman Diamond. 

Northeastern starting pitcher Max Gitlin retired the first 25 batters he faced before allowing a one-out double to pinch hitter Sam Biller in the ninth inning. 

UConn starting pitcher Sean Finn was strong on the hill in his scheduled short outing, tying career-highs with 2.0 shutout innings that featured five punch outs. 

Ian Cooke had his best appearance of the year with 4.1 innings out of the pen with two unearned runs allowed, zero walks and a season-high eight strikeouts.

The Huskies tied their season-high with 14 strikeouts as a staff.

Next up, the Huskies open BIG EAST Conference play with a three-game series at Xavier beginning Friday, March 28.
