Morrison and Zydanowicz Receive BIG EAST Weekly Awards
STORRS, Conn.- Two Huskies received recognition from the BIG EAST on Tuesday. Marc Morrison and Jenna Zydanowicz were named Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Women's Track Athlete of the Week, respectively, the conference announced this afternoon.
Morrison takes home the award after his school record performance in the long jump on Saturday at the Penn 10 Elite Meet, jumping 7.86m, the farthest jump of anyone at the meet. Zydanowicz finished in 3rd place in the 1 mile with a time of 4:38.30, the second-fastest in program history.

Men's Indoor Track & Field is ranked:
- 32nd in the national rankings
- 2nd in the Northeast region
- 3rd in the men's heptathlon event squad ranking
- 4th in the men's long jump event squad ranking
Women's Indoor Track & Field is ranked:
- 33rd in the national rankings
- 3rd in the Northeast region
- 3rd in the women's pentathlon event squad ranking.
UConn returns to action this weekend at the John Terrier Classic on Friday and will host the Greg Roy-al Rumble on Saturday, recognizing legendary former head coach Greg Roy in Storrs.
