Track & Field Wrap Up Crimson Tide Invitational in Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- UConn track and field wrapped up a two day meet at the Crimson Tide Invitational, hosted by the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa this weekend.
Men's Field:
- Alex Krause (Coventry, Conn.) made the program all-time top 10 list in the hammer throw at 59.88m.
- Joshua Mooney (Stonington, Conn.) took home 5th in the javelin throw, cracking the all-time program top 10 with a throw of 68.01m. Connor Hayford (Pittsfield, Mass.) secured 6th with a throw of 66.82m.
- Kasey Savage (Horsham, Pa.) finished 6th in the long jump at 7.18m.
- Kyle Johnson (Montverde, Fla.) finished 4th in the triple jump at 15.28m.
Women's Field:
- Natalia Surdej (Lancaster, N.Y.) finished 5th in the hammer throw at 56.08m.
- Gabriela DeFelice (New Canaan, Conn.) and Emily Alty (Ashburn, Ontario) took home 4th and 5th, respectively, in the discus, with throws of 45.54m and 45.52m. DeFelice cracked the all-time program top 10 in the event.
- Sinclaire Fryer (Augusta, Ga.) finished in 7th in the women's shot put at 14.30m.
Men's Track:
- Terrel Williams (Maplewood, N.J.) finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.93.
- In the 400m hurdles, OJ Singletary (Rochester, N.Y.) had the 7th best performance in program history with a time of 52.27.
- Mekhi Stone (Smyrna, Ga.) secured 10th in the 400m with a time of 47.26.
Women's Track:
- Faith Kiplimo (Eldoret, Kenya) ran the second-fastest 3,000m steeplechase in outdoor program history, taking second in the race with a time of 10:07.45. Malin Rahm (Schaffhausen, Switzerland) ran the 6th fastest time in program history, taking third in the race with a time of 10:17.73.
- Anna Connors (Bangor, Maine) placed in the top 10 in the 400m with a time of 54.89.
- Jessica Starr (Cobalt, Conn.) took home 10th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.40.

"The meet was a great one and the University of Alabama and the track staff did an outstanding job hosting! We had some breakthrough races and competitions, highlighted by Faith's steeplechase race, #2 UConn all time, currently 1st in the BE and 14th in the NCAA. Our teams are training through this part of April, and we will be ready for championship season!"
