Track and Field Heads to Philly for 129th Penn Relays
STORRS, Conn.- UConn track & field returns to action this week at the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 2025 Penn Relays will be the 129th running of the event and will be held from Thursday, April 24th to Saturday, April 26th.
The Huskies come into the relays following a strong home performance at the Northeast Challenge in Storrs last weekend. The UConn men and women's teams swept the meet, with the men posting 166 points and the women notching 220 points.
Diarmuid O'Connor (Cork, Ireland) and Maresa Hense (Germany) secured BIG East Men's and Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors after winning the decathlon and heptathlon, respectively. O'Connor's personal-best 7,658 points rank second all-time in program history, and 9th in the nation, leading a decathlon event squad that checked in at #2 in this week's rankings. Hense's 5,733 point performance also ranked second all-time in program history, placing her 6th in the nation in the heptathlon, leading the Husky event squad to a #3 ranking.
