Raleigh Relays Final Results | UConn Dog Fight Invite Final Results
STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track and field teams put on a show as a smaller squad took on competition at Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C., and the rest of the squads hosted the UConn Dog Fight Invite Saturday.
The Huskies finished with strong results over the three days of competition. In total there were 41 top-five results, eight personal records, and nine first-place finishes.
At the UConn Dog Fight, the men took first place totaling 170 points in 20 scored events as Albany took second with a total score of 125. The women finished first putting up a huge total of 186.75 points in 19 scored events with Albany following behind with 151 points, respectively.
On the men's side, junior Travis Roux earned himself a personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 60.46m, placing second. Roux then took third in the discus throw, throwing 50.57m. In the men's high jump, UConn took 1,2, and 3 with first year Mawali Osunniyi (1st, 2.09m), first year Dar Jankovic (2nd, 2.04m), and junior Kasey Savage (3rd, 2.04m).
On the women's side, junior Chloe Thomas shattered her personal best in the 5,000m at Raleigh Relays running a strong second-place time of 15:35.83. Then, at the home meet, the Huskies also dominated. Junior Natalia Surdej put up a personal best in the hammer throw tossing a 62.48m mark, taking first place. Soon after, junior Jailya Ash exploded for a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles running a time of 13.29 seconds. Following behind that, would be junior A'liyah Thomas with a personal best time of 12.34 seconds, placing second. To round it out, in the 4x400m relay, Mia Powell, Anna Connors, Jalah Cooper, Jessica Starr hit a season best mark (1st, 3:48.11).

The Huskies head to the South Florida meet with the men competing on Friday, April 5 and the women competing on Saturday, April 6 in Tampa, Fla.
