Track & Field Cruise Past the Competition on Senior Day Weekend

UConn Northeast Challenge Final Results | Friar Invitational Final Results

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track & field teams fired away at the competition at the UConn Northeast Challenge with senior day to wrap up the successful weekend.

In the two-day meet at home, through the rain and cold weather, the Huskies fought hard to dominate in nearly every event. In the team score, the women took first with 161.5 points scored over 20 events. Albany followed in second place with 113 and Dartmouth placed third with 64.5 points. The men also took first with a score of 129 points in 20 events. Albany and Rhode Island took second and third with 73 and 69 points, respectively.

The Huskies totaled 34 top-five results, 10 first-place results, and five of those being personal records.

On the men's side, senior pole vaulter Travis Snyder accelerated in his performance slashing an outdoor school record of 5.46m (17'11'). He placed first in the event. First-year Josh Mooney dominated the men's decathlon for his first collegiate outdoor multi-event meet. Mooney placed first with 7,026 points.
