Diarmuid O'Connor Takes 13th in Decathlon and A'liyah Thomas Competes in Day 2 at Nationals
2024 NCAA Track & Field Championships Day 2 Final Results
EUGENE, Ore. - University of Connecticut decathlete Diarmuid O'Connor highlighted day two at the 2024 Track & Field Championships with second team All-American status in the decathlon totaling 7,546 points at Hayward Field Thursday. A'liyah Thomas also hit the national stage in the women's long jump.
O'Connor had the best mark in the decathlon 1500m running a personal best and a second-place time of 4:24.21. Thomas finished in the long jump in 19th place with a mark of 6.16 meters.
The Huskies have the day off Friday (June 7) and then come back to compete on Saturday, June 8 as Chloe Thomas hits the national stage in the 5,000m at 4:25 p.m. PT.
