STORRS, Conn.- Diarmuid O'Connor (Cork, Ireland) and Maresa Hense (Germany) have been respectively named BIG EAST Men's and Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

O'Connor set a new personal best in the decathlon on Saturday, winning the UConn Northeast Challenge in Storrs with 7,658 points. O'Connor secured top-2 finishes in all ten events. The junior now ranks first in the BIG EAST in the decathlon and 9^th in the country.

Hense continued her standout freshman campaign at the Northeast Challenge, taking first place in the heptathlon with 5,733 points, the second-most points in UConn program history. The freshman from Germany took first place in five events, and now ranks first in the BIG EAST and 6^th in the country in the heptathlon.

The Huskies return to action this week at the historic Penn Relays that kick off Thursday, April 24^th.
