Huskies Head to NCAA East First Round Qualifiers

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track & field teams prepare for the NCAA East First Round Qualifiers in Lexington, Ky., hosted by Kentucky in the four-day event from May 22-25. The Huskies send 16 athletes; eight men and eight women, to the qualifying round for a shot to compete at the NCAA track & field championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8.
Coming off a third-straight combined season sweep at the outdoor BIG EAST Championships including 11 individual winners, the Huskies get ready to take on the regional qualifiers. Continuous weekly award winners throughout the season and new top 10 all-time marks at UConn constantly being updated make the Huskies a strong program heading into the NCAAs.
The men begin the meet on Wednesday with field events starting at 10 a.m. ET. UConn's first event will be in the javelin throw at 1 p.m.
The women begin the meet on Thursday with the first event at 10 a.m. ET on the field at the hammer throw.
The Huskies will compete throughout the four-day competition. Live streaming will begin at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday and Thursday; and 5 p.m. ET on Friday and Saturday.
