Huskies Lose at Marist, 5-2

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis team lost a tough battle with Marist, 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.  

The Huskies got off to a fast start, claiming the opening doubles point.  UConn's top doubles team of junior John Michael Holtmann (Coral Gables, Fla.) and sophomore Christian Provenzano (Montclair, N.J.) posted a 6-4 win over Christopher Gladden and John Oxner.  The tteam of junior Yili Zheng (Shanghai, China) and Rami Scheetz (Cedar Rapids, Ia.) earned a 6-3 win over Lars Schouten and Moritz Daxboeck at No. 2.

In singles play, Scheetz earned the Huskies' lone win, battling to a three-set victory over Piotr Sowinski, 6-4, 5-7 adn 6-4.  At No. 2, Zheng lost a tough three setter with Gladden, falling 3-6, 6-4, 15-13.

The Huskies are back in action on Thursday, March 12 with a trip to Brown University.
