Huskies Secure Three Points at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The UConn men's soccer team defeated the Butler Bulldogs, 1-0 on Saturday night at the Sellick Bowl. The Huskies move to 8-2-4 this season and 3-1-1 in BIG EAST play.

UConn goalkeeper Max Kerkvliet earned his seventh clean sheet of the season, making two saves in the win.

The game was scoreless going into the halftime break with shots in favor of the Huskies, 9-4.

Senior forward Scott Testori found the game's lone goal in the 58th minute. The Madison, Connecticut native headed home a cross from junior forward Eli Conway off a counterattack, scoring his third goal of the season. The goal snaps a three game scoring drought of 354 minutes for the Huskies.

"I'm proud of the group," said head coach Chris Gbandi. "I thought we did everything we needed to do to win the game, played well defensively and then Scotty (Testori) just came up big there at the end. It was a great team effort, and I am super proud of the group".
