MSOC Travels to Villanova

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team will face the Villanova Wildcats on Friday, October 4. Kickoff is set for 3:00pm. 

UConn is coming off back to back scoreless draws last week. The Huskies have yet to lose a match this season, sitting at 6-0-3 this season.

UConn ranks in the top ten nationally in team goals against average (9th, 0.667), and save percentage (2nd, 0.846). The Huskies are also 17th in the country in goal differential (11). 

UConn goalkeeper Max Kerkvliet has had a great start to his season, only conceding six goals this season. The redshirt-freshman ranks nationally, 10th in goals against average (0.667), 4th in save percentage (0.842), and 11th in shutouts (4). Kerkvliet recently was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. 

Villanova (0-5-4) is coming off a 2-1 loss at St. John's last Saturday. The Wildcats are coached by first year head coach Mark Fetrow. Villanova's points leader, Balthi Saunders has 16 points so far this season, tallying five goals, and six assists. UConn won last year's matchup with the Wildcats, 1-0 in Storrs (Sept. 29). UConn leads the all-time series 15-4-1.
