MSOC Hosts LIU on Sunday Night
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (2-0) welcomes the LIU Sharks (2-0) to Morrone Stadium on Sunday, September 1. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Tickets are available HERE.
UConn is coming off a 2-1 over NJIT on Thursday night, putting the Huskies at 2-0 on the young season. The last time UConn won their opening two matches in a season was 2016. Senior forward Scott Testori has led the Huskies front line this season, recording a goal and two assists through the first two games. Sophomore midfielder Sabri Hanni has had a great start to his 2024 season, tallying two goals and an assist in his first two games as a Husky.
LIU is coming off a 1-0 win at Albany last Sunday. The Sharks are coached by program alumni, Michael Mordocco (1998-2001). Mordocco is in his seventh season at LIU and is coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance a season ago in 2023. LIU beat the Huskies 2-0 last season.
The match will be streamed for free on UConn+ and will also be available in Connecticut on WAAX.
