MSOC Prepares for two out of conference match ups

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (2-0-1) have a pair of out of conference matchups with the first on Friday, September 6 as the Huskies will travel to Central Connecticut State for their first away game of the season. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm and will be streamed on NEC Front Row. UConn returns home on Monday, September 9 to host Siena. Kickoff will be at 7:00pm and streamed on UConn+.

UConn is still unbeaten through their first three matches of the 2024 campaign. The last time UConn started off unbeaten through their first three games was 2019. The Huskies have outscored their opponents 8-1 with the lone goal conceded coming from a penalty kick. Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Max Kerkvliet has had a strong start to his UConn career being named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week this past week. Kerkvliet ranks atop the conference with a .917 save percentage, making eleven saves through the first three matches. He ranks third in saves per game at 3.67. 

Sabri Hanni leads the Huskies in points this season with five (two goals, one assist). Hanni currently ranks third in the conference in points per game with 1.67. Scott Testori and Max Gummeson both rank second in the conference in assists per game with 0.67. Both Testori and Gummesson have a pair of assists this season. 

CCSU has started the 2024 season winless, falling in their first three matchups. UConn won the lone all-time matchup between the two programs last season, 3-1 (Sept. 19).

Siena is also winless to start the season at 0-1-2. UConn won last year's matchup Saints, 3-1 (Sept. 4).
