Pair of Huskies taken in 2024 MLS SuperDraft

STORRS, Conn. – Two UConn men's soccer sophomore standouts, Jayden Hibbert and Eli Conway were selected in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday night. Hibbert was selected by Atlanta United in the first round with the 19th overall pick, becoming the 16th first round draft pick in program history. Conway was selected by CF Montreal in the third round with the 68th overall pick. 

Hibbert, a native of Teaneck, New Jersey has played a total of 20 matches in his two seasons at UConn. This season, he served as the Huskies starting goalkeeper making 41 saves while holding a 0.68 save percentage in his 14 games played. Hibbert earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week two times this season. "Congratulations to Jayden and his family on being drafted by Atlanta United", said head coach Chris Gbandi. "Jayden has worked tirelessly here at UConn for this unbelievable opportunity. We are all so proud of him and wish all the best!"

Conway has played a pivotal role for the Huskies in his two seasons at UConn. The forward from Mount Olive, New Jersey has appeared in 33 matches, scoring six goals, adding four assists, with 19 shots on goal. He becomes the 41st player in program history to be drafted in the MLS SuperDraft since its inception in 1997. "Congratulations to Eli on being drafted by Montreal", said head coach Chris Gbandi. "Eli has shown he's a versatile player here at UConn and we have no doubt he will adapt playing at the professional level. We are all very proud of Eli."
