MSOC Shuts Out Villanova

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The UConn men's soccer team beat the Villanova Wildcats, 3-0 on Friday afternoon at the Higgins Soccer Complex. The win puts UConn in first place with seven points in the East Division of the BIG EAST.

Senior forward Scott Testori opened the scoring for the Huskies in the 12th minute. The Madison, Connecticut native got on the end of a cross from Kieran Chandler, heading home his second goal of the season. 

Junior midfielder Nicolas Tomerius doubled the Huskies lead in the 24th minute, scoring his first goal of the season. 

UConn went into the half leading 2-0, with shots even at eight a piece. 

Junior midfielder Charlie Holmes sealed the win for the Huskies in the 64th minute, scoring his second goal of the season.  

Redshirt-freshman Max Kerkvliet earned his fifth clean sheet of the season for the Huskies, making four saves in the match.

UConn returns to action on Tuesday, October 8, as the Huskies will head to the Vermont Catamounts. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm and will be streamed on ESPN+.
