Joey Muldowney Named All-American
STORRS, Conn. – UConn sophomore Joey Muldowney (Lake View, New York) was named a 2024-25 CCM/ACHA Men's Hockey All-American as one of the nation's top-24 college hockey players at the "Friday Night at the Frozen Four" in St. Louis. Muldowney earns a spot on the East Second Team.
The UConn sophomore is the third Husky to earn All-American status during the program's Division I era (1998-present) and is the first since Ryan Tverberg was named a Second Team All- American following the 2022 season. Muldowney is one of eight Hockey East Players to be honored.
Muldowney played in all 39 games for the Huskies this season, leading the team with 29 goals, second amongst Hockey East scorers and second amongst all Division I scorers. Muldowney finished the season with 47 points, leading the Huskies and setting a new program record for most points in a single season. Muldowney finished the season with three career hat tricks, including a hat trick in the Hockey East semi-final win over Boston University.
Joey Muldowney took a massive leap as a sophomore, inking his name in UConn history. Muldowney became the program record holder for most hat tricks and goals scored in a single season in the Hockey East Era. Muldowney has been recognized for his season, being named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star, as well as New England Hockey Writers Association Most Improved Player and New England All Star.
