» The Huskies are set to begin Hockey East action on the road with a one game matchup

against Boston University.

» The Huskies offense continues to produce. The Huskies have scored 16 total goals in the

four game span and are averaging 4 goals per game.

» Junior Tyler Muszelik continues to be strong in goal, bouncing back from allowing 4

goals in game 1 against Holy Cross, to only allowing 1 goal in Saturdays 3-1 win.

» The Huskies new skaters continue to make an impact. Freshman Trey Scott scored the

game winning goal Saturday in his first career appearance against Holy Cross.

» Sophomore Jake Richard has been on a tear to open the season, scoring four goals and

dishing out two assists to open the season.

» Five on Five Hockey has been a strength for the Huskies as they have scored 12 of their

16 total goals.

» Physical play: Last season when these two teams faced off Feb. 23/24, the teams combined for 32 penalties.

» New Faces: The Huskies have 14 new athletes to this year's team. The group consists of

3 goalies, 5 defenseman, and 6 forwards

» Despite the number of new skaters joining this year's team, the Huskies returned experienced players, including Hudson Schandor, John Spetz, Tom Messineo, Jake Richard

and Jake Percival

» Despite adding 14 new faces, in that group comes 4 transfers from NCAA D1 schools.

Hugh Larkin joins UConn after spending time at Western Michigan, Nick Carabin joins

the Huskies from Princeton, Tyler Muszelik from New Hampshire, and then Viking

Gustafsson Nyberg comes to the huskies after spending one year at Northern Michigan.

» Of the Huskies first 8 games of the season, UConn will spend 6 at home. The two road

games being a non-conference matchup against Holy Cross and a matchup against

Boston University to open Hockey East Action on October 18.

» Huskies in the NHL: Ruslan Iskhakov and Yan Kuznetsov became the 6th and 7th

Huskies to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the New York Islanders and Calgary Flames. They join, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam

Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
