Huskies Picked 5th in Hockey East Preseason Poll

STORRS, Conn. – The Hockey East Association announced the 2023-24 Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday with the UConn Huskies picked to finish fifth by the league's head coaches. The 2023-24 season will be UConn's tenth season of play in Hockey East.

The Huskies also achieved their best start in program history last season and achieved their highest ranking in program history, reaching sixth in the NCAA polls.

Boston University sits atop the preseason poll with nine first place votes, followed by Boston College who received two first place votes. Merrimack College sits in third place followed by Northeastern and then the Huskies. Rounding out the poll is Providence College, UMass Lowell, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

The 2023-24 season will get underway October 7 as the Huskies will travel to take on Colgate University. UConn's home opener at Toscano Family Ice Forum will be October 14 as the Huskies will welcome the Holy Cross Crusaders to Storrs.
