» After defeating Vermont by a final of 4-1 in the opening round of the Hockey East Playoffs, the UConn Huskies will advance to take one the no.1 seed Boston College Eagles Saturday night in the Quarterfinal round.

 » The Huskies and Eagles faced off two times early this season, with Boston College coming away victorious in both matchups. Game one between the Huskies and Eagles was a thriller, with 9 total goals scored and the Eagles winning with time running down in the OT period.

» The magic number lately for the Huskies is two. When scoring 2 goals or fewer against Hockey East opponents UConn and UMass lead Hockey east with 5 total wins.

» Matthew Wood has begun to find his stride as of late. The sophomore has registered at least one point in the last four games for the Huskies, scoring 6 goals and registering two assists.

» Huskies in the NHL: Yan Kuznetsov became the 6th Husky to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the Calgary Flames. Kuznetsov joins, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
