HUSKIES CONTINUE FALL SLATE AT ELON PHOENIX INVITE

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's golf team picks play back up this week, heading to the Elon Phoenix Invitational at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, NC.

The three round, 54-hole event takes place over two days on the 6,871-yard, par 71 course. Teams will play two rounds on Monday, October 14 with the final round contested on Tuesday, October 15.

The Huskies take on a field consisting of host Elon along with App State, Dartmouth, East Carolina, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Long Island, NC A&T, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, Queens, Radford, Temple, Middle Tennessee State, and UNC Greensboro.

UConn had last weekend off after hosting their annual UConn Invitational at GreatHorse tournament.  The Huskies finished second in the field and were led by senior Ray Dennehy (Princeton, MA) who tied for second place, his top finish during this young season. It was Dennehy's tenth career top-10 finish and his third since transferring to UConn.  He fired a tournament-best 18 birdies during the event. Through two events this fall, Dennehy leads the team with a 72.2 per round scoring average.

Junior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) is off to a strong start as well, playing three rounds at par or better and posting a 72.5 scoring average per round. He's finished inside the top-20 in both tournaments this season, including a sixth place finish at the UConn Invite.

Following this week's tournament at Elon, the Huskies will head to fellow BIG EAST member Xavier for their tournament next week.
