Ferdinand Mueller Named Men's Golf Assistant Coach

STORRS, Conn. - UConn head men's golf coach Dave Pezzino announced the addition of Ferdinand Mueller as the program's new assistant coach.  Mueller begins his collegiate coaching career with the Huskies after a successful international professional golf career.

"After a national search, Ferdinand really stood out with his focus on player development and his outstanding international playing experience," said Pezzino. "His work ethic and attention to detail will serve our program and our student-athletes well."

Prior to joining Coach Pezzino's staff, Mueller, a native of Renningen, Germany, has been working as a PGA Professional intern at the Golf Club Bad in Liebenzell, Germany. He has collaborated with other coaches on best practices, techniques and working on overall program improvements.

Mueller played his collegiate golf first at Marquette University before transferring to Oklahoma State for his junior and senior seasons.  While playing for the Oklahoma State, he was honored as an Academic All-American and an Academic All-Big 12 player.

He began his professional playing career in 2021 on the Challenge Tour and the ProGolfTour (PGT).  During 2023-24, he played professionally on the Asian Tour, the All-Thailand Tour and in Thai PGA.  During the summer of 2023, he also served as caddy to Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra on the LIV Golf Tour and International Series. Lopez-Chacarra would win the 2023 St. Andrews Bay Championship (International Series event) in a historic 10-hole playoff vs. Matt Jones.

Mueller earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2021.
