Gourdine and Sheffield Earn Invites to NFL Rookie Minicamps
STORRS, Conn. - UConn defensive tackle Dal'Mont Gourdine (North Charleston, SC) and wide receiver TJ Sheffield (Thompson's Station, TN) earned invitations to participate in upcoming NFL Rookie Mini-camps this May. Gourdine will be attending the Kansas City Chiefs camp while Sheffield is set to attend the Tennessee Titans camp.
Gourdine finished his four-year UConn career this past fall having played in 48 total games as a mainstay at defensive tackle for the Huskies. He finished with 124 total tackles including 13.0 for a loss. He recorded 5.5 sacks and had 12 pass break-ups and a blocked field goal during his career.
Sheffield joined the Huskies for the 2024 season as a grad transfer from Purdue. He played in all 13 games this past fall and finished the season with a career-best 54 catches for 505 yards and three touchdowns. His best outing came in the win over Temple when he hauled in nine balls for a career-high 141 yards and a score. On special teams he had 34 punt returns, the most of any player in FBS, averaging 7.1 yards per return. During his time at Purdue, he appeared in 46 career games for the Boilermakers, making 118 catches for 1209 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 10.2 yards per catch over his career.
