UConn Football Hires Pryce Tracy as Passing Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach
STORRS, Conn. – UConn head football coach Jim Mora has announced the addition of Pryce Tracy to his coaching staff for 2025. Tracy joins the Huskies as the team's new passing game coordinator and quarterback's coach.
Tracy comes to Storrs after spending the last three seasons at Georgia where he was an assistant to the head coach and the assistant tight ends coach. He was a part of Coach Kirby Smart's staff that helped lead the Bulldogs to College Football Playoff appearances in 2022, a perfect 15-0 season capped by a National Championship, and in the 2024 expanded playoff. He was a part of three-straight SEC Championship game appearances and the 2022 and 2024 SEC titles as well.
Prior to coaching with Georgia, Tracy spent the 2019 through 2021 seasons at Idaho as the team's running back's coach and recruiting coordinator. He was at Arkansas Tech in 2018 as the QB coach and recruiting coordinator. After beginning his coaching career at Clay High School in 2009, Tracy had his first collegiate coaching experience at Alabama under Nick Saban where he was a recruiting specialist during the team's 2011 National Championship season. He also spent five seasons at Notre Dame working as a special teams analyst, a grad assistant wide receivers coach and quarterback analyst in his time with the Irish. Notre Dame won three bowl games during his tenure.
Tracy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education from Indiana University South Bend and a Master's of Science degree from Idaho.
In addition to Tracy joining the UConn staff, Mora announced that Ted Hefter has joined the UConn and will serve as a senior offensive analyst working with the quarterbacks. UConn also announced that offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis will hand over offensive line coaching duties to assistant coach Christian Pace, starting his fourth season with Huskies. Pace was elevated to assistant coach n 2023 and has coached the tight ends the last two seasons. Cole Peterson, who has been an offensive analyst under Coach Mora, will take on assistant coaching duties and work with the UConn tight ends in 2025. Other additions to the UConn staff are Matt Leifheit as an assistant special team's coach, Nate Atkins as an assistant defensive line coach and Rante Jones as a player personnel assistant/defensive analyst.
Mickey Grace, who has worked as defensive analyst the last three seasons will move to a new role as director of player development / pass rush specialist and Tayler Riddick will take over as the director of football operations.
