Huskies set for Weekend Series Against Merrimack

STORRS, Conn. – The No. ranked UConn women's hockey team is set for a home-and-home series against the Merrimack Warriors. The series will start on Friday, November 15 at Merrimack starting at 6:00pm. The Huskies will return home on Saturday, November 16 to close out the series. Puck drop is set for 3:00pm. UConn (6-6) is coming off back to back 1-0 losses for the first time this season. The Huskies are currently in fourth place in Hockey East with a 5-2 record. 

UConn has been led by their defense this season, conceding the fewest goals in all of Hockey East so far this season (20). UConn goaltenders Tia Chan (Hamilton, Ontario) and Megan Warrener (Stoney Creek, Ontario) have a combined .939 save percentage which ranks atop the conference. Chan and Warrener each have one shutout this season. 

Scouting Merrimack:

Merrimack (4-5-1) picked up one point in their two game series last weekend against first place Boston University. The Warriors are currently tied in eighth place in the Hockey East standings with seven points. Merrimack is coached by Erin Hamlen in her ninth season. They are led by freshman forward Chloe Goofers who leads the team with six goals this season, giving her a team high ten points.
