Huskies Set For Critical Two Game Homestand
STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team is set for a critical two game homestand against Merrimack and Boston College to wrap up the first half of the season.
The Huskies currently sit atop the Hockey East standings, with Boston College right behind. The Huskies will kick off the weekend with a 2pm puck drop vs. Merrimack College. This will be the first matchup between UConn and Merrimack this season. The Warriors currently sit at 6-8-2 overall and are coming off a 1-0 victory over Providence College. Leading the way for the Warriors is Celine Tedenby with seven goals and six assists.
Following the game Friday, the Huskies will welcome the no.15 Boston College Eagles to the Toscano Family Ice Forum. The battle for the top of Hockey East will play out on NESN with puck drop at 3pm. The Eagles and Huskies have already faced off twice this season with Boston College coming away victorious in both those games. In the two games UConn grabbed the early lead, but the Eagles managed to comeback and take the wins. Boston College is currently coming off a 3-1 loss against Northeastern. Leading the way for the Eagles is Abby Newhook, who currently has seven goals and five assists.
The last two matchups this season between the Eagles and Huskies featured 10 total goals scored and were one goal games.

Following the games against Merrimack and Boston College, the Huskies will have some time off for the Holiday break. UConn will return to the ice January 5 as they will travel to Minnesota for a two-game series against the gophers.
