No. 14 Huskies Fall at No. 11 Boston College
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 14 ranked UConn women's hockey team lost, 3-2 to the No. 11 ranked Boston College Eagles on Friday afternoon at Conte Forum.
The Huskies opened the scoring halfway through the first period on the power play. Freshman forward Claire Murdoch netted her team leading sixth of the season, putting UConn up 1-0.
Boston College tied the game at one with six minutes left in the first period off the stick of Lauren Glaser, her third of the season.
The game remained tied at one heading into the first intermission with shots in favor of the Eagles, 16-14.
UConn regained the lead midway through the second period as sophomore forward Livvy Dewar tallied her first goal of the season, making it 2-1.
Boston College found a shorthanded equalizer with three minutes remaining in the second period, knotting the game at two.
The game remained tied heading in the second intermission with shots in favor of the Huskies in the second frame, 23-16.
Boston College took the lead for good with under ten minutes remaining in the third period as Glaser recorded her second goal of the game.
The Huskies threw everything they had at BC in the final ten minutes putting 16 shots on goal, but UConn could not find the equalizer.
