Lacrosse Faces Butler in Indy for BIG EAST Matchup
STORRS, Conn.- UConn women's lacrosse kicks off the final month of the regular season tomorrow afternoon with a BIG EAST tilt against Butler in Indianapolis at 2pm.
UConn Snapshot:
The Huskies (7-4) secured a road victory against Hofstra on Saturday, taking down the Pride 18-12. Rayea Davis (Henrietta, N.Y.) led the attack for UConn with a team season-high nine points, punctuated with a career-high six assists. Emma Dacey (Hopkinton, Mass.) notched career-highs in goals (four) and points (six). Jenna Giardina (South Salem, N.Y.) tied a career high in points (6), with three goals and three assists. On the defensive end, Meg Lane (Wilton, Conn.) had a team season-high 12 draw controls, along with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Butler Snapshot:
Butler is looking for their first win of the season, dropping the first eight contests of their season. The Bulldogs fell to conference foe Villanova last Saturday by a score of 18-6. In the loss, Elise Latham found the back of the net for the Bulldogs three times. Latham leads Butler in goals (17) and points (20). Patrice Lynn ranks first on the team in draw controls (23) and caused turnovers (7). Alyssa Lentz has started all eight games for Butler in goal, making 81 stops at a .405 save percentage.
Maggie Zentgraf is at the helm for Butler in her third season. Last season, Zentgraf and the Bulldogs scored a program record 36 free position goals.
All-Time Series: UConn leads the series 7-0, taking the last matchup 21-11 in a matchup in Storrs last April.
