UConn Selected as No. 2 Seed in 2025 NCAA Tournament
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's basketball team will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the 36th straight season as the Huskies were selected as the No. 2 seed in the Spokane 4 Region of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
UConn will open the NCAA Tournament vs. No. 15-seed Arkansas on Saturday in Gampel Pavilion at 1 p.m. on ABC. The Huskies will also host No. 7-seed Oklahoma State vs. No. 10-seed South Dakota State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m..
This is the eighth time has been selected as No. 2 seed (1998, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2019, 2022, 2023).
The Huskies have competed in every NCAA Tournament beginning with the 1988-89 season. In that time, UConn has advanced to 23 Final Fours and won 11 National Championships.
Head coach Geno Auriemma and the Huskies are 136-24 in NCAA Tournament games. Auriemma is the winningest head coach in postseason play.
UConn (31-3, 18-0 BIG EAST) won the BIG EAST Conference's automatic bid by winning the conference tournament last week.
