Cross Country Races in Pre-Nationals Invitational in Madison

STORRS, Conn.- UConn Cross Country will look to keep up the strong momentum from their last two races, as they head to Madison, Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals on Saturday, October 19th at the Zimmer Championship Course.

The Huskies won the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup, led by BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week Calista Mayer.

UConn will compete in one of the 2024 seasons most competitive competitions this fall at the University of Wisconsin's Pre-National Invitational.   The Huskies will be led by Big EAST and USTFCCCA National Athlete of the week, Chloe Thomas as she comes off of her 2 previous races that saw the senior set consecutive course records.

The 8 UConn women will compete in the Women's "A" race with a start of 10am CDT.

Quote from Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Beth-Alford Sullivan:

We are healthy and excited to compete at the Pre-National Invitational this weekend.  The Wisconsin course is the site of the NCAA Championships final in late November this year and this will be a highly competitive field for the Huskies to compete.
