HookC Battles But Loses Series Finale at Miami
MIAMI - The UConn baseball team (4-8) fought back from multiple six-run deficits but ultimately fell to Miami (12-5), 15-11, on Sunday afternoon at Alex Rodriguez Park.
Grant MacArthur hit a pair of home runs with a two-run home run in the first inning and two run home run in the eighth. His eighth inning home run cut the Miami lead, at the time, to 13-11.MacArthur finished the day with three knocks
Tyler Minick and Rob Rispoli each recorded a three-hit game with Minick hitting a two-run home run and delivering a two-run double. Rispoli scored three runs and stole a base at the top of the UConn order
Unfortunately, the pitching staff struggled on Sunday with 10 walks and three hit batters to add to the 13 hits allowed.
Next up, the Huskies have their home opener on Tuesday, March 11 at 3:05 p.m. against LIU at Elliot Ballpark. The game will be streamed for FREE on UConn+.
