No.22 Lacrosse Battles Manhattan on Saturday
STORRS- UConn lacrosse (2-1) returns home Saturday afternoon to take on the Manhattan University Jaspers of the MAAC. The Huskies entered the week ranked No.22 in the IWLCA Poll and No.24 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. UConn suffered their first loss of the 2025 season last weekend, falling to James Madison at the USA Lacrosse Facility on Saturday, 11-8.
UConn Snapshot:
A Rayea Offense: In the loss, Rayea Davis scored two more goals, adding to her team-high of 11 on the season. The 11 goals are the most by any BIG EAST player, and has Davis tied for 12th in the NCAA.
Key Contributions: Eliza Bowman and Ava Plata added two each in the defeat, the second multi-goal game of the week for each of the Husky attackers.
On a Silver Plata: The five goals for Plata are already a career-high for goals in a season, surpassing last year's mark in three games.
Beran' Down: Abby Beran (left) had 12 draw controls on the 1-1 week for UConn, along with six ground balls and five forced turnovers. Beran leads the team with 10 ground balls, six caused turnovers, and is second in draw controls (16) only trailing Riley Daly's team-leading 18.
Clear Zones, Full Heart: Through three games, the Huskies have a perfect clear percentage, going 50/50 on attempts, only one of four schools in the nation to have a 100% mark.
