Kyle Johnson Named BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week
STORRS, Conn.- Kyle Johnson was named BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Johnson, a key part of the second-ranked triple jump event squad in the country, set the program record in the event (16.07m).
Johnson earned this recognition twice in his first season at UConn (4/10/24 and 12/13/23). The sophomore jumper from Montverde, Florida has continued his stellar Husky career thus far, following up a first-year indoor season in 2024 that garnered him Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer, winning gold in the triple jump and silver in the long jump.
The Huskies return to action this weekend at the Crimson Elite Meet on Friday and the Bruce Lehane Scarlett and White Invite on Saturday, hosted by Harvard and Boston University, respectively.
