UConn Announces a Pair of Promotions Within Athletics
STORRS, Conn. – UConn Director of Athletics David Benedict announced two promotions within the Division of Athletics on Tuesday afternoon. Dom Godi has been elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives while Cat Zuppani will now serve as the Associate Athletic Director, External Operations & NIL Strategy.
In his role, Godi will examine new and enhanced revenue streams and positioning of the department for the future. He will work closely with the executive team and Benedict on strategic endeavors and will collaborate closely with external units to ideate and develop comprehensive revenue generation initiatives and timelines. Additionally, he will continue to oversee the department's human resources matters and serve as principal liaison with the general counsel's office on contractual topics. Godi will also maintain his primary sport administrator duties for women's ice hockey and tennis, as well as secondary administrator for football.
With the ongoing growth of NIL, Zuppani will take a lead position in this space in terms of educating and interacting with UConn's student-athletes on ways to build their personal brand. Further, she will help leverage NIL opportunities in tandem with driving key external initiatives. She will communicate regularly with the President's Office, Board of Trustees and the Office of Governmental Relations on various operational matters. Additionally, she will be the department's main point of contract with The UConn Club, attending meetings and providing support for their annual events. She will also maintain her primary sport administrator role with field hockey, and men's and women's track and field/women's cross country and will serve as secondary administrator for men's basketball.
