Huskies Fall to Massachusetts
MANCHESTER, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis team suffered back-to-back losses for the first time all season as they fall to Massachusetts by a final of 4-3 Wednesday afternoon.
The Huskies came out strong securing wins in no.1 and no.2 doubles convincingly but the momentum shifted to the Minutewomen in the singles matchups as they were able to secure the win with four victories. The doubles pairing of Olivia Wright and Victoria Matos dominated to open the match, securing a 6-1 victory followed by a hard fought win from Isabel petri bere and Chloe Lomans in no.2 doubles. In singles, the Huskies fought hard, forcing four three set matchups but it was Massachusetts who came out victorious. The Huskies secured wins from Cameron Didion and Isabella Asenov in the singles matchups.
With the loss, UConn falls to 14-4 overall and will close the regular season Sunday April 13 with a BIG EAST matchup against St. Johns.
