STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's golf team heads back to South Carolina for the second time in the last three tournaments as they take part in the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge events at the True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island.

The three-round tournament opens on Monday, March 31 with 18-holes on the par 72, 6,940 yard course.  Rounds two and three will play out over Tuesday and Wednesday, April 1 and 2.

The Huskies will meet up with a pair of BIG EAST foes this week in S.C. in St. John's and Xavier as well as teams from Fairleigh Dickinson, LIU, Georgia State, North Alabama, Valparaiso, SIU Edwardsville, West Georgia, Jacksonville State, Mercer, Southern Indiana, Marshall, Stephen F. Austin St., Kansas City and USC Upstate.

UConn is coming off their second-straight third place finish, competing at the ECU Intercollegiate two weeks ago.  The Huskies have been led this spring by sophomore Alex Heard (Boca Raton, FL) who has a pair of top-10 finishes on his ledger and is coming off an eight place showing at ECU. Heard owns a team low 71.9 per round average this season and has a BIG EAST Golfer of the Week nod to his credit as well.

The Huskies will fill out their lineup this week with senior Ray Denney (Princton, NJ), junior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT), sophomore Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) and senior Vikram Konanki (Newton, MA) with senior Eric Boulger (Walpole, MA) playing as an individual.

The Huskies are inching closer to postseason play as they will have one more tournament to play after this week before the conference championship.  UConn will head to Penn State on April 12 and 13 for The Rutherford Invitational.
