WSOC Embarks On Longest Road Trip of Year
CHICAGO - The UConn women's soccer team (5-3-4, 2-1-2 BIG EAST) embarks on its longest road trip of the season with a Thursday, October 12 match at DePaul (5-5-2, 1-3-1 BIG EAST) at 4 p.m. ET and a Sunday, Oct. 15 game against Butler (5-5-4, 1-1-3 BIG EAST) at 1 p.m. ET. Both games can be streamed on FloSports.
Last time out the Huskies had its five-game unbeaten streak ended by Xavier, 1-0, suffering their first defeat at Morrone Stadium, this season.
UConn is currently tied for fourth place in the BIG EAST standings at the halfway mark of conference play.
The Huskies are 8-1 all-time against the Blue Demons with the Huskies winning 3-1 in Storrs in 2022. Cara Jordan, Emma Zaccagnini and Chioma Okafor all tallied goals in the victory.
UConn carries an 0-4 record against Butler into its meeting on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis.
The Huskies enter the weekend with the fewest goals allowed in the BIG EAST with just six goals given up this year. On offense, the Huskies look to snap a three-match streak without scoring a goal, the longest of the season.
DePaul enters Thursday's match ranking 11th in the BIG EAST with 11 goals this season and rank 6th in the league with 14 goals allowed.
The Bulldogs is fourth in the BIG EAST with 21 goals scored this season and are tied for 8th in goals allowed with 18.
