Bueckers Selected as Preseason AP All-American
STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was named to the preseason AP All-America team, as announced by the Associated Press Tuesday.
Bueckers returns to UConn for a final season after leading the Huskies back to the NCAA Final Four in 2023-24. She led the Huskies with 21.9 points per game, 53 blocks and 86 steals and was one of the most efficient guards in the nation with a .530/.416/834 shooting split. Bueckers totaled 854 points last season, the second most by a Husky in a single season all-time.
The Hopkins, Minn., native was named a 2024 WBCA, AP, USBWA and Wooden Award First Team All-American. Bueckers was also selected as the BIG EAST Player, Scholar-Athlete of the Year, BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player and NCAA Tournament Portland 3 Region Most Outstanding Player.
Bueckers is a two-time AP First Team All-America selection as she earned the honor and AP National Player of the Year as a freshman in 2021.
The Huskies face Fort Hays State in an exhibition on Sunday, Nov. 3, at noon in Gampel Pavilion. The game will air on The Wax (WWAX) and UConn+.
