LOS ANGELES – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers and freshman Sarah Strong were selected to the John R. Wooden Award Late Midseason Top 20 Watch List, as announced by the Los Angeles Athletic Club Tuesday.

Selected by a panel of national college basketball experts, the list comprises 20 student-athletes who are frontrunners for the most prestigious honors in college basketball: the Wooden Award All-American Team and the Wooden Award Most Outstanding Player.

Bueckers leads the Huskies with 18.8 points per game and 4.4 assists per game. One of the most efficient guards in the nation, Bueckers is shooting 53.1 percent from the floor and 41.5 percent from three-point range this year. She leads the nation with a 3.61 assist-turnover ratio.

Bueckers won the 2021 Wooden Award as a freshman, and she was a 2024 Wooden Award All-American.

Strong has been a force for the Huskies in her rookie season. She is second on the team with 16.7 points per game and leads the team with 7.9 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. Strong has a team-high five double-doubles this season.

Strong is one of two freshmen on the 20-player watch list.

The seventh-ranked Huskies (22-3, 13-0 BIG EAST) are back in action Wednesday vs. St. John's (13-10, 3-9) at 7:30 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion.
