Huskies Set for Weekend Series at No. 7 Tennessee

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn softball team will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend for a three game series with the 7th ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers from March 14-16. Due to expected inclement weather on Saturday, the teams will play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 5:00pm, with the second game to follow at 7:30pm. Sunday's series finale remains as scheduled at 12:00pm. All three games will streamed be on SEC Network+ and the WatchESPN app.

UConn opened BIG EAST play last weekend with a 2-1 series win at preseason favorite Villanova. After losing game one, 10-2 in a six inning run-rule, the Huskies came storming back winning game two, 6-3, and game three, 9-8, earning their first conference series win of 2025.

UConn's offense has had steady contributions up and down the lineup this season. UConn ranks second in the BIG EAST in batting average (.294), runs batted in (110), and third in hits (170). The Huskies lead the conference with 23 home runs this season. UConn has two players hitting above a .400 batting average this season in junior Grace Jenkins and senior Rosie Garcia. Jenkins leads the Huskies roster this season in hits (27), homers (6), RBI (26), doubles (8), and walks (11).
