STORRS, Conn. - A trio of UConn football seniors were named to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watchlist.  UConn senior offensive tackles Chase Lundt (Arlington, TX) and Valentin Senn (Volders, Austria) were joined by senior defensive tackle Jelani Stafford (Brownsville, Pa.) on being named to this year's preseason watchlist for the annual senior all-star game to be held in January.

Lundt and Senn are returning bookend starting tackles for the Huskies and have been mainstays on the UConn offensive line during their careers.  Lundt has played and started 35 games at right tackle for UConn.  Senn has started every game at left tackle the last two seasons and has appeared in 29 games for the Huskies since transferring in from Colorado prior to the 2021 season.  In the last twos seasons under offensive line coach and new offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis, the duo helped anchor a unit that led the Huskies to a final ranking of 33rd in the nation in rushing offense in 2022, averaging 191.0 yards per game.  In the passing game, the UConn offensive line was 29th in the NCAA in sacks allowed, allowing just 1.38 per game in 2022 and followed that up last season by improving to ninth in the country allowing just 12 sacks total (1.00 pg) on the season.

Stafford, who has played in 25 games for UConn since transferring from Youngstown State before the 2022 season, was a dual threat on offense and defense last season.  Stafford started 12 games on the defensive line and finished the season with 40 total tackles, 28 solo, and 8.0 for a loss.  He had a pair of fumble recoveries as well.  Offensively, Stafford was used out of the backfield in short yardage situations and finished withe season with 15 carries for 22 yards and led the team with six rushing touchdowns.
