Huskies Post Strong Results at UConn Invitational
STORRS, Conn. - In their second invitational of the fall 2024 season the UConn women's tennis team built off their strong showing from the Quinnipiac Invitational and showed good results at their lone home matches of the fall.
On the opening day of the UConn Invitational, the Huskies faced off against Wesleyan, followed by Fordham on day two and Army on the final day.
One consistent through the weekend was that the UConn doubles pairings continued to impress. The pairing of Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou won all their matches this weekend when paired together. Following suit was the pairing of Isabel Petri Bere and Caroline Hinshaw who over the course of the weekend, swept their doubles pairings.
In single matchups, Olivia Wright once again showed in the number one spot, winning two of her three matchups. On day one of the Invitational, the Huskies were dominant, winning every single matchup they were in against Wesleyan. Fordham and the Huskies ended up splitting their single matchups on day two, with each team having three victors, and on the final day UConn won six of the seven single matchups.
UP NEXT: UConn will hit the road as they travel north for the Dartmouth Invitational. The Invitational is set to begin Friday September 27 with the final day being Sunday September 29.
